By the way, I really like putting the guys in costumes.

Admittedly, Trek had me first. Wrath of Khan is the only movie to make me ball like a baby. But I also am pretty sure I can quote the entirety of Episode IV. Boy that’s revealing. I hope no one I know reads this!

I’m pretty sure the folks that come to Zombie Roomie don’t read the comments.
Your nerdom is safe here.

I like Star Trek best, but I also enjoy Star Wars. Can’t we all just get along?

It’s like that scene in Pulp Fiction… you’re one or the other.
We see the guys are sci fi dorks and it is also a way to keep the guys at odds in the odd couple kinda way.

I think that’s an internal struggle going on in my mind. I introduced my boys to Star Wars first, since that what I was introduced to first. I vaguely remember when I was 2 years old and Star Wars had just came out, my folks took us to the drive in to watch it. There was a storm approaching and I remember seeing the lighting and the space fights and really being encompassed by a feeling of being there. I have and always will be a Star Wars first type guy.
However when I was 7 or 8 my folks started allowing us to stay up and watch Star Trek re-runs after the news. I became instantly hooked and we rented Star Trek the motion picture probably a dozen times. Then when Star Trek II came out on Video we rented it to death. The others I was able to see on the big screen.
So I really can’t choose a side, but I would have to say that John is definitely taken the forcible approach at his problem, so I some what have to root for him.

I remember seeing the early Star Trek flicks before seeing Star Wars.
Plus, my Dad would have TOS and TNG episodes on while I was growing up. I ended up watching DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise on my own.
The original Star Wars flicks are still pretty good, but, some of the DVD changes annoy me… the newer trilogy holds a far less vaulted place in my heart… The Clone Wars movie/show is aimed too young so while it’s fun, it isn’t designed for me to fall in love with.

Did you change the TV words in the end? I could have sworn it said “That’s no moon” this morning…
I lean towards Star Wars, but then I take the recent ones into account and lean back towards Star Trek.

Yeah, I was originally going for a fat joke w/ the “That’s no moon” line but I wasn’t sure it came across that way.
So, I went w/ the easier line.

Oddly enough, when I originally wrote the strip John’s final line was different as well. His original line was, “Conquest is easy. Control is hard.” It seemed a bit too niche for a quality punchline, however.

The first thing that came to mind is the fight with Kirk and the lizard guy (can’t remember the name). I have to admit, though, I was rooting for Star Wars until that last panel.

The Gorn.
Yeah, I’m a fan of how Kirk-John came out. Also we don’t often see John getting the better of George, so I think some of the charm of this strip comes from that.

My allegiance has traditionally been with Star Wars. I don’t anything Trek related, though I’ve seen a fair bit of it. Mostly now I’m Whovian.
I wouldn’t want to get into a war where you are flinging merchandise back and forth though. There are a lot of Trek books, and books are heavy.

I’ve got a joke planned to add a bit of Dr. Who nerdiness to this rivalry at a later date. Keep an eye out.

I’m bi-sectional I think.

I think I tilt more towards Star Wars. Not to the movies, but rather to the universe that Star Wars is in. The old trilogy movies were good of course, but the Star Wars thing that has my heart is the first Kotor game (Knights of the Old Republic).
It is to date my favourite game of all time (Ever since I got it in the year 2002-2004). I watched lot of Star Trek when I was younger but after I played this game it was no question to where my allegiance was placed.
If you haven’t tried the game, then you should ‘waves hand’. I hear it is quite cheap on steam. But don’t let me force ye :3

I am Star Wars. But I like the whip out some Trek movies every now and then. And I really hate the Babylon 5 ripoff, Deep Space 9.
