Here’s something else I worked on after I did the comic for Wednesday, August 4th.

I really like the color in this, it was done in RGB and the current comics have been done in CMYK for a long while. They’re much more vibrant in RGB vs CMYK and I’ll probably be swapping to do the strips in RGB again.

I just like the look that much better… they’ll be saved to CMYK for possible printing at a later date too though.

I love the colors here and the shading. How do you do that kind of shading. I’ve always liked that style…simple and clean.

Great site and comic and thanks for the menubar tutorial! Haven’t *quite* figured it out or got it working but it’s awesome that you provided so much detailed info!

Well, how I do the shading is simple if you know how to do masks in Photoshop. I created a duplicate layer of the color layer and adjusted it via curves. I then applied a mask and painted out where I wanted the shadows to occur and they automagically showed up.

There are sites that will allow you to do “Print on Demand” in RGB. I think it’s called Ka-blam, or something to that effect.. We are looking into it for TOGM.

Also, thank you very much for your Custom Menubar I’m currently in the process of modding it for our own use.

Yeah, I know there are some RGB print dealies, but there are far more CMYK based… hence the original decision to swap to CMYK in the first place.

I do intend to use Kablam for a project in the next year or so and intend to investigate their restrictions a little more when I get closer to that.

The custom menubar tutorial is a love/hate thing for me. I love when people use it and figure it out on their own based on what I put up… I hate when people don’t have ANY css knowledge and try it and freak out and e-mail me/post to the ComicPress forum that they can’t make it work…
